The planning process and how we can help

When it comes to purchasing a canopy the process is easy – we take care of everything for you to make sure your experience with us is as smooth and as hassle free as possible.

Our free planning assistance service means that we submit all documents for you and liaise with your local planning officers throughout the process, all you have to do if provide us with a few details and pay for the plans – we do not charge a single penny for this service.

How our free planning assistance service works

First of all, we need to receive a signed order form for your canopy before we can proceed with the planning process.
Then we fill in the planning forms required by your local authority. There are 3 questions that we will need to ask you which are:
– Is anyone that works at your school/company related to anyone within your local council?
– Did you apply for the pre-planning process?
– Who owns the land the canopy is being built on?
We will need to purchase a location plan and request the costs from yourself (please note, we do not add any mark up onto this – the price you pay, is the price requested from the supplier).
We will create and add technical drawings of your desired canopy to the location plan.
We will create the elevations.
We will create a Design Access Statement if required by your local council.
When all documents have been completed, we will receive a fee from your local council. We will then pass the fee onto yourselves and once payment has been received and you are happy for us to do so, we will submit all documents on your behalf.
The application will then go through a validation process which should be completed within 2-3 weeks, however all council lead times are different.
If the application has been validated, the planning process will take 6-8 weeks depending on your local councils lead times, as mentioned above, they all differ.

To this date, we have never had a planning application rejected and we have a 100% success rate!
