The Downs CE Primary School required a walkway for their school. They were not sure of the size, yet they knew they wanted it to cover a large area.
Having completed a full site survey, Able Canopies produced a quotation for a Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy. The Downs CE Primary School was extremely happy with the quotation provided and was very impressed with the super imposed images included within it.
As The Downs CE School wanted the canopy to wrap around their school, Able Canopies included “hips” and “valleys” within the design to ensure the canopy looked neat and tidy and matched the outline of the building. The canopy was a total length of around 75m.

- Polycarbonate panels which are light in weight and up to 200 times stronger than glass and 10 times stronger than uPVC panels
- Heavy duty structural Aluminium & uPVC glazing system for ultimate strength
- Roof strong enough to be walked upon as a means of escape and maintenance (with use of boards)
- 40mm ‘X’ structure polycarbonate panel offer the best insulation properties available (1.4w/mk) (much better than sealed, triple glazed units)
- Panels tested to most European standards and to BS476 Part 7 and BS476 Part 6 with a Class 1 Fire Rating. The panels are classed as self-extinguishing and do not emit toxic gasses, unlike uPVC panels
- Excellent protection from the sun, blocking up to 99% of UV rays
- Glazing Panels available in clear, bronze and opal
- Built-in properties mean the canopy requires only periodic cleaning
