Shade Sails and Tensile Canopies – How to Choose
Fabric canopies are stunning structures that are contemporary, colourful and extremely stylish, they work perfectly within modern areas and also transforms outdated areas, bringing them back to life!
There are two types of fabric structures to choose from, they are Shade Sails and Tensile Fabric Structures. Both ranges are covered with different fabrics, and I have listed below the benefits of each to help you decide which fabric structure best suits your shade and shelter needs.
Shade Sails:
- Almost unlimited design possibilities – great for architectural projects
- The fabric is available in over 15 colours
- Protects those underneath against 98.8% of UV rays
- The fabric is knitted and therefore lets air follow through creating a cooling, shaded space underneath
- The fabric also lets rain though, which is perfect for grassy areas because it keeps the grass watered and doesn’t affect the growth (this also means that shade sails are not waterproof)
Tensile Fabric Structures:
- There are six standard designs to choose from including cantilevered walkways, umbrellas and free standing canopies
- 40 fabric colours to choose from including metallic
- The frame can be powder coated to any RAL colour
- Block up to 99% of UV rays, protecting those underneath
- Fully waterproof – the fabric is completely waterproof, protecting those underneath from the elements
Conclusion:
Shade Sails are perfect for those that would like to create their own contemporary design and install a shade sail over grassy areas. They allow air to flow through, making them perfect for sun protection.
Tensile Fabric Structures offer complete protection from the sun and rain and are perfect for installation on non-grassy areas and offers more colour options.
