Robyn’s Favourite Installation of all Time

Robyn-Leigh is our newest member of the Able Family. As she hasn’t been here long, she hasn’t been heavily involved with any completed projects yet however, that hasn’t stopped her from finding a favourite installation from scouring our website. Here’s her favourite installation so far:

St Andrew’s C of E Primary School, West Sussex

“The wrap around wall mounted canopy for the courtyard is very attractive. This design was very thoughtful and innovative. The canopy provides coverage to the walkways and play areas, while maintaining the open central space.

This really balances the shade and sunlight creating a dynamic outdoor environment where pupils can comfortably play, learn and interact throughout the year.

The attractiveness of this installation is undeniable. The combination of the greenery, curved flooring and of course the main feature – a sleek canopy structure, I feel transforms the space into an inviting area for both students and teachers.

The central hump adds a playful almost storybook like element to the design which reminds me of the Teletubbies tv show, a nostalgic connection I share with my grandson, who loves the show.

Beyond the visual charm, the installation is highly practical. The strategic positioning of the canopy allows teachers to have a clear sight from their classrooms into the play area. This thoughtful integration of functionality and aesthetics makes it a standout project in my eyes. And after reading the case study, I see just how important it is to have Able Canopies conduct a survey because the client knew they needed a canopy but able canopies experts in this field designed a stunning functional canopy which sure exceeded the client expectations. It is installations like these that highlight the true impact of well-designed outdoor spaces.”
