My Favourite Croydon Installation so far…..
My favourite installation for Croydon is a little different from my other favourite installations. Usually my favourite installations are big jobs that either had large canopies or lots of canopies installed, as these make big differences to the grounds that they are installed on. However, this time, my favourite installation in Croydon so far has to be Croydon University Hospital.
Croydon University Hospital
In April 2012, one of my installation teams installed a 6 m x 3.6 m Palladio Commercial Awning in the outdoor play area for the Dolphin (Children’s) Unit.
Not only does the awning fit perfectly in the area in which it was installed (the photos really do not do it justice), but it has also made such a difference to the patients, and the hospital staff are really impressed with their new awning.
The awning has made it possible for their young patients, including those unable to leave their beds, to play outside and enjoy some fresh air. Parents can also now spend more time with their children while they play outside, knowing they are protected from the sun. It’s always so rewarding knowing that my products make such a difference, especially for young children who wouldn’t be able to enjoy the outdoors without the use of a canopy.
Victoria Hill, the senior play assistant for the Dolphin ward said these kind words about our service and explains how the awning has enhanced their ward.
“Very efficient during the installation. No fuss – brilliant work. Delighted to have the canopy. It will be perfect for the children playing outside when the weather is hot. It will be wonderful not having to move the sand and water tray to shaded areas in the play area to keep them from getting too hot (the children!). Parents can spend more time with their children knowing they can sit in the shade watching them play quite happily. Ideal for children on traction not able to get off beds, they can be transported on their beds outside under the shade – perfect!! Many thanks.”
