Covid-19 is due to be with us for a long time and the need for schools to invest has not gone away. That’s why school fundraising options need to be found. Fundraising ideas now need to consider social distancing and the fact that many students could still be studying from home, at least for part of the week.

So, what are the best ways to socially distance and fundraise?

1. Online Auction

Auctions are one of the best ways that you can get your children’s parents involved and it is simple to do. Depending on the software that you’re running your website on (WordPress, Shopify, etc.) there could be great software to help run an auction online. All the proceeds can then be donated to the cause.

Otherwise, you can use software like Facebook Messenger, Zoom or other video chat options to run an online auction. Remember to get local businesses to donate products to your auction; in exchange for them to be mentioned during the event.

Another great way to earn money is by doing virtual sponsorship events. Like sponsoring teachers to read online to children. Children could choose their favourite books and parents to offer to sponsor the children to read. The longer the books, the more money that could be raised.

Alternatively, you can sponsor a teacher or group of children to walk around their gardens a number of times. Children can be paid per lap they do or for the length of time that they’re walking.

Games have always been a massive part of the online world, and you can take advantage of that by offering online games. For instance, you can get the children’s parents to buy entries in word search, crossword or sudoku competitions. The winner can be given a prize, that could be donated from a local business.

Depending on your website software as well, this should be fairly easy to manage.
