Lakes Meadow, a care home in Coggeshall, Essex had an area that was an awkward shape within their grounds which they wanted to utilise by storing mobility scooters and keeping them sheltered from the rain.

The area in question was in between two buildings and was 7.19m in length, 1.98m at the smallest opening and 6m at the largest opening.

Because of the odd shape, the canopy would need to be bespoke to be able to over the whole area seamlessly. We suggested the Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy because although it is a standard product, every canopy is manufactured for each individual order. It is also very flexible in design in the way that it can be altered to suit different shape buildings including internal corners, externals corners and obstructions.

The Coniston is usually fixed to the wall along the wall plate with front posts. Because the Coniston would be installed in between two buildings for this project, it was fixed along the wall from the wall plate and the eaves beam was fixed to the adjacent wall using wall brackets for extra strength. Posts were not required due to the fixings on the wall. This meant that there was no need to dig foundations, making the installation quicker, enabling the care home to make use of their new covered area sooner.
