Christine’s Favourite Installations of All Time

Christine’s Favourite Installations of All Time

It’s time for me to share my own favourite canopy installations. I guess I’ve been putting it off slightly for two reasons. The first being that I have so many favourites, it’s really hard to choose just a couple, and secondly, because I wanted to see what everyone else chose, then I could at least eliminate those from my list – I was playing tactically, you see.

I noticed a pattern in my original list of favourite canopies, which was that most of them were Coniston Wall Mounted Canopies. This didn’t surprise me because although I absolutely love our larger, more impressive structures and quirky bespoke canopies, you really can’t be a good ole’ Coniston.

I love how the Coniston looks fantastic wherever you install it, including both modern and more traditional settings, and how although it’s extremely durable and long lasting with its 10-year guarantee and 25-year life expectancy, it’s also cost-effective. This means it’s affordable for schools and organisations that have limited funds, and their pupils and visitors can still benefit from the very best weather protection.

So, here are my top three installations, plus three extras, because I couldn’t leave them behind.

Poplars Farm Primary School, Lincolnshire

As mentioned above, I love a ‘box standard’ Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy, and this is probably my favourite, mainly because it’s such a nice photograph with a nice blue sky and new, clean surroundings – many of our photos are taken on building sites that are still under construction. However, I also think the colour combination goes together really well, plus green is my favourite colour.

Dartington C of E Primary School, Devon

I figured I should choose at least one installation that isn’t a Coniston Canopy, so it therefore absolutely had to be the six Tarnhow Timber Canopies we installed at Dartington C of E Primary School in Devon. Installing six canopies in one phase ensured this school has plenty of shade and shelter for their pupils, allowing so many pupils to benefit from playing and learning outside at the same time as each other.

I love the positive impact our structures have on those that benefit from them, whether that be school children, hospital patients and staff, patrons dining outside at restaurants, or staff enjoying their lunch breaks outside.

Edgbaston Priory Club, West Midlands

I couldn’t help myself, we’re back to a Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy, this time at Edgbaston Priory Club which is a private leisure club in Birmingham.

I love this installation as I think the photos show the atmosphere and the feeling that our canopies provide; they aren’t just cover from the weather, they are somewhere to sit whilst watching your family or friends in the pool that you’ve just got out of, after enjoying a game of tennis. You’re now enjoying a refreshing cold beverage and nutritious lunch outside whilst you relax under the canopy which you haven’t even noticed, yet it is keeping you protected from the weather, blocking the harsh sun, creating a cooling shade on a hot summers day.
