What Can School Canopies be Used For?
School canopies can provide a magnitude of uses for teachers, pupils and parents. Nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities can all benefit greatly by investing in a school canopy. Here’s a few of the main uses that our existing customers regularly have a school canopy installed for:
Outdoor Classrooms
Outdoor Classrooms are commercial canopies fitted with side and back panels with the options of enclosing all four sides, and having either an open doorway, or lockable doors. Similarly to outdoor dining canopies, outdoor classrooms are the perfect solution to inadequate space issues within schools and enable you to expand your usable space with minimal cost and minimal disruption.
You will be able to take lessons outdoors all year round and the weather will no longer put a stop to your plans that you spend a lot of time organising. The addition of side panels and doors means you can store your tables, chairs and equipment in there all year round, including slightly more costly equipment if you opt for secure lockable doors.
Playground Canopies
School canopies can be installed within your playground to offer shade and shelter during playtimes such as lunch breaks, as well as creative play within EYFS environments. Opting for a canopy with a polycarbonate roof such as the Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy, or the Welford Dome Freestanding Canopy, will ensure you have full cover from all weather conditions including both the sun and rain.
You can choose to add optional extras such as canopy side panels for additional protection from the wind and driving rain, secure roller shutters to safely store equipment and our Rainbow Package which can brighten up even the dullest of outside areas and is a firm favourite with schools.
Outdoor Dining Canopies
Creating covered outdoor dining areas within schools has become one of the most popular reasons for investing in a canopy. Many schools are finding that their current dining halls cannot cope with the number of pupils that pass through it, and they desperately need more space. Outdoor Dining Canopies are the perfect solution as the cost is a fraction of a full building extension, and the disruption is minimal, especially compared, to a full extension.

Outdoor Learning Canopies
Outdoor Learning Canopies are commercial canopies that are installed anywhere within your school either attached to a building, or in the middle of your playground or field. You can use them to switch up your lessons by taking them outside, adding excitement to the lesson and breaking up the day.
As with all our school canopies, they can be made from many construction materials including aluminium, steel and timber, and can be covered with a choice of polycarbonate or toughened glass. You can choose from any RAL colour to enable the canopy to either fit in seamlessly within your outside area or choose fun, vibrant colours to brighten up your outside area.
MUGA Canopies
MUGA Canopies provide all-year round weather protection to your outdoor multi-use games areas which is perfect for PE lessons, sports games and events such as sports day. They enable you to use your MUGA all year round and continue with outdoor PE lessons and matches even if poor weather is forecast.
Our big span canopies are prefect for covering MUGA’s and outdoor gyms such as our Hamilton Freestanding Canopy and the Double Grange Freestanding Canopy.
