The Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy has always been our most popular product due to its versatility, durability, sleek design and cost effectiveness. There was a need for a canopy with the same features of the Coniston with a much larger projection. Thats how the Stepped Coniston Big Span Canopy was born.
The Stepped Coniston is a wall mounted canopy that can also be installed as a freestanding canopy. It is constructed from a strong aluminium frame which also features integrated aluminium guttering for a robust and long-lasting construction. It can span up to an impressive 11.5 metres due to the added support of central posts, and can be supplied in any length, enabling you to cover extra-large areas with this big span canopy.
It is covered with 35mm structured polycarbonate roof panels which are vandal and shatter resistant and are 200 times stronger than glass. During the manufacturing process, the panels are coated with a special UV coating. This UV coating stops the panels from yellowing overtime due to exposure from the sun, unlike the alternative panels on the market that can turn yellow over time. This coating also ensures the panels protect those underneath from over 98% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, making it perfect for well used areas including schools and hospitals, helping to protect those underneath from sun damage.
The guttering system is integrated within the canopy frame and is also constructed from aluminium which will not rot overtime as aluminium is naturally rust resistant. This integral guttering system not only looks better, but it also reduces the risk of debris blocking the guttering and is much easier to maintain. The downpipes are made from uPVC are are not integrated into the canopy posts.
The Stepped Coniston’s aluminium frame is supplied powder coated in white as standard however, it can be finished in any RAL colour at an additional cost, enabling you to either match your existing colour scheme, or creating a striking contrasting effect. The choice is yours.

Resistant to Breakage
Our polycarbonate panels are light in weight, up to 200 times stronger than glass. The Stepped Coniston is a heavy duty structural aluminium glazing system.
Maintenance
The Stepped Coniston Canopy requires only periodic cleaning. To clean the roof we recommend a solution of warm water & a non-abrasive cleaner. For more information please see the maintenance schedule which is found in your After Sales Pack.
Insulation Properties
The 35mm multiwall polycarbonate roof panels offer the best insulation properties available (1.2 w/m k). Much better than sealed, triple glazed glass units.
Weather Resistance
During the manufacture of our polycarbonate panels a layer of long life UV absorber is co-extruded onto the surface forming a barrier which offers high UV protection from the sun. All structural components are made from aluminium for high strength and total weather resistance.
Fire Performance
Our structured Polycarbonate sheets have been tested to most European standards & meet the BS476 part 7 with a class 1 fire rating and EN 13501 B-S1, d0

Colour Options
Aluminium Framework:
The Stepped Coniston Canopy’s fully aluminium framework is finished in white as standard to give your canopy a fresh, neutral look however, it can be powder coated in any RAL colour at an additional cost, allowing you to match your canopy to your existing structure, or reflect your school or company branding colours.
