Ellesmere College – Coniston Freestanding Canopy

In February 2025, we supplied and installed two Coniston Freestanding Canopies at Ellesmere College in Leicester, Leicestershire.

Ellesmere College was keen to create two welcoming outdoor spaces adjacent to their modular classrooms, allowing students to enjoy fresh air, play, and learn comfortably throughout the year, regardless of the weather. Recognising the numerous educational and wellbeing benefits of outdoor learning, the school reached out to Portakabin Ltd, who in turn contacted us to help bring this vision to life.

After assessing their specific needs, we recommended installing our Coniston Freestanding Canopies. These robust, stylish structures provide reliable weather protection and create versatile outdoor learning spaces, giving students the freedom to safely enjoy the outdoors in every season.

Oaklands Secondary School Case Study

Able Canopies were commissioned by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to produce five bespoke canopies at Oaklands School in Tower Hamlets, London. These canopy installations were part of a major Building Schools for Future (BSF) project managed by Bouygues (UK) Ltd. to refurbish parts of the school and construct a new building at the site. The canopies were crucial to bringing the whole look and feel of the refurbished site together, and so communication, teamwork, and painstaking attention to detail were vitally important to ensure a successful installation.
