Specifications
Roof Panels
Covered with 4mm thick solid polycarbonate panels that have a light weight and an extreme impact resistance.
Excellent Weather Resistance
The polycarbonate panels offer high weather resistance against UV rays whilst also protecting those underneath from the rain. A protective UV coating is applied to both sides of the polycarbonate which protects those underneath whilst also preventing the panels from yellowing, changing colour or losing their shine.
High Light Transmittance
The polycarbonate panels have an excellent light transmittance which varies for the colour of the polycarbonate. Please see the results in the table below from the test method according to DIN 5036:
Polycarbonate Colour | Light Transmission % |
Clear (Supplied as standard) | 87% |
Bronze | 50% |
Grey | 55% |
Green | 73% |
Please note: We do not have the results for opal or embossed polycarbonate.
Fire Resistance
The clear polycarbonate roof panels that are supplied as standard have been tested and adhere to the UK fire rating BS 476 Part 7 Class 1Y and the European fire rating EN 13501-1 B s1 d0. All other polycarbonate colours (excluding Opal) have passed the European fire rating EN 13501-1 B s2 d0.
Frame
The canopy frame is constructed from UNI 6060 T5 grade aluminium that is treated with pure thermosetting polyester powder.
Integral Guttering
The canopy frame benefits from integral aluminium guttering that has a drain side that collects water and then disperses it down the drainpipe located at the top, through a drip spout.
Loading Capabilities
The Colwyn has been certified by TÜV for loads up to 170daN/m². When tested, there were no recorded signs of any permanent damages or breakage. Please note these results are only valid for projections of 1.5m or less.
