St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School was in need of a canopy structure to provide shelter from the weather to their staff and pupils.
St Cuthbert’s employed NBF Partnership, an architect based in Hanwell, London to contact Able Canopies on their behalf. They required a quote for a school awning to be installed attached to a brick building set back between two adjacent gable walls. They asked Able Canopies to recommend a fixing height and an awning that would be suitable for primary school use.
Able Canopies recommended the Palladio Awning as this has an electric motor and is available in over 60 colours including 9 waterproof colours. The Palladio Awning is also a cost effective canopy solution and was therefore suitable for St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School. The chosen awning is also an elegant looking cassette awning which has a maximum projection of 3.6m and length of 7m and can be retracted when it is not in use to avoid vandalism and wind damage.
The school and architect were pleased with the quotation and went ahead with the order.
The school opted to have a wind and sun sensor added to their awning to enable the electric motor to automatically project and retract the awning when it senses the sun and wind.
The awning was installed and both clients were happy with the end result of a bright new addition to their school building.
