In January 2025, we supplied and installed a 13m x 5.5m Tarnhow Curved Freestanding Timber Canopy at Nelson Primary School in East Ham, London.

Nelson Primary School wanted to install a timber canopy to create a permanent covered area where pupils could learn and play while staying protected from the unpredictable British weather. Their goal was to transform an underutilised outdoor space into a functional and inviting environment for students.

To meet their needs, we recommended the Tarnhow Curved Freestanding Timber Canopy, a solution that combines style and practicality. With its elegant design, this canopy not only enhances the visual appeal of the school grounds but also provides spacious, all-weather protection, making outdoor activities more accessible throughout the year.

Now, Nelson Primary School has a versatile and sheltered space that supports outdoor learning, play, and recreation, enriching the overall school environment.

Able Canopies were commissioned by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to produce five bespoke canopies at Oaklands School in Tower Hamlets, London. These canopy installations were part of a major Building Schools for Future (BSF) project managed by Bouygues (UK) Ltd. to refurbish parts of the school and construct a new building at the site.
